Hangers

Joist hangers let you frame a dock deck flush without notching beams or relying on toe-nailed connections that work loose under cyclic wave loading. The catch is that ordinary hangers are not rated for treated lumber contact, and the preservatives in modern pressure-treated wood will corrode them from the inside.
