Fiberglass Rebar

Steel rebar in marine concrete has one predictable failure mode: chlorides reach the steel, the steel corrodes, corrosion products expand, and the concrete spalls off the face. Every cracked seawall cap and spalling dock beam you have seen is that process.

Fiberglass rebar, or GFRP, cannot corrode. It is roughly a quarter the weight of steel, carries high tensile strength, and eliminates the cover-depth anxiety that governs marine concrete design. For seawall caps, dock beams, and anything in the splash zone, it changes the service life math substantially.

We stock fiberglass rebar in the common diameters. Use it with anchor rods and filter fabric on seawall projects, and see all seawall products. Send us your drawings for a free material estimate.
