316 Stainless Steel

Type 316 stainless is the grade to specify for saltwater. The molybdenum content gives it markedly better resistance to chloride pitting than 304, which is what fails first on hardware sitting in salt spray or the splash zone.

This collection gathers our 316 stainless fasteners in one place: bolts, nuts, washers, screws, and lag screws in the diameters and lengths dock framing calls for. It costs more than hot-dipped galvanized up front, and it is the right call anywhere the connection is structural, hard to reach, or expected to outlive the decking above it.
