Gangways & Ramps
While picturing your new dream dock, how it's moored will be an important decision which affects what type of gangway will be best suited for it. There are two main types of floating dock mooring systems: a piling-type mooring system, and a stand-off mooring system.
Piling-type Mooring: Hinged at the shoreline with wheels that land on the floating dock. As water levels fall, the gangway rolls toward the shore; as they rise, it rolls away.
Stand-off Mooring: Features a double-hinged gangway. As water levels rise, the entire floating dock is pushed away from the shore, while falling levels bring the dock back toward the shoreline.
