Carriage Bolts
The carriage bolt's domed head and square shoulder are the reason it belongs on a dock. The head sits smooth against the walking surface with nothing to catch a bare foot or a dock line, and the square shoulder pulls into the wood so the bolt will not spin while you tighten the nut from one side.
