Filter Fabric
Filter fabric is the cheapest component in a seawall and one of the most consequential. It goes behind the wall and lets water pass while holding soil back. Skip it, and every rain event pushes fines out through the joints until you have voids behind the wall, sinkholes in the yard, and a bulkhead losing its lateral support.
